As I’ve been talking more about personal branding and building a valuable blog on my Periscope, a lot of people have been trying to understand how exactly to monetize a blog. I created a video explaining the difference between your blog, your business and your brand. Understanding the difference helps you to utilize all three in a way that can make you likeable and profitable.
Check out the video below.
[Tweet “The blog is the communication platform, the business is the product/service.”]
[Tweet “Your business sells your what, your brand sells your why.”]
[Tweet “A business sells a solution. A brand sells a story.”]
[Tweet “Without a story, you don’t have a brand.”]
Great breakdown on the differences, Maya! I’ve been working with a lot of newbie bloggers who are focused on the money piece without truly understanding what differentiates them (hobbyists) from the brands & businesses they want to emulate. It’s definitely not the most popular conversation to have, but engaging and educating people about how they can turn their blogs into brands and businesses gives a much clearer picture of the discipline and seriousness that comes with the territory for success. Thanks for always keeping it real 😉
