My following on social media has grown rapidly within the past 4 months which has helped me continue to build my brand as a coach. When you notice that something is working for your brand, blog, or business, it’s important to take note of it and turn it into a strategy.
Here are the 3 things I’ve done consistently to build my influence through social media:
1. Use Hashtags
Using hashtags helps you build consistency and a sense of curiosity to your audience. I’ve personally been using #MEBrandClass for my Periscope broadcasts on branding, #ContentCreationChallenge for a free challenge I shared with my subscribers and #BetterBranding30 for people that joined my 30-Day Better Branding Challenge + purchased the eBook. I love that hashtags can create a sense of community for my audience. It’s also social proof that you are an influencer in your industry.
2. Use Branded Graphics
People love visuals. They will always be more drawn to a graphic than they are to text. I have a notebook full of quotes that I’ve used in my emails, blog posts, webinars, etc and turned them into branded graphics. The graphics get retweeted, reposted and shared on social media which expands my influence to other platforms. Here’s what a couple of mine look like:
Any time you say something prominent or “tweetworthy” turn it into a graphic or a “click to tweet”. The more you are quoted, the more authoritative you become.
3. Post Consistently
You are only as relevant as you make yourself. You need to make sure that you’re staying at the forefront of your audience’s mind when it comes to your industry. When I’m not having general conversation with people on social media, I’m making sure that I have automated posts that lead back to my blog. Here’s an example of my editorial calendar for social media (this is only for 2 weeks):
I use CoSchedule + a specific strategy to make sure my content is always circulating online.
I love that I’ve had a chance to connect with and impact so many people. I’ve figured out how to turn my popularity into profitability by getting my audience to trust me and having something valuable to sell them.
What’s your favorite social media platform to use so far? I’d love to hear from you!
Do you only schedule your blog post on twitter? or are you also sharing other blog post when scheduling out your tweets?
Hey, Dayna! I only schedule my posts, but I still share other influencers content.
I was just thinking about the graphic quotes today! This is very helpful and I’m glad I stumbled upon it. Would you say that graphic quotes are shared more on all media networks?
